This week’s featured art(ist) is Tom Rainford.
Rainford is an animator and illustrator based out of the United Kingdom. His work has been used in independent short films, and he was a finalist for the Penguin Book Award for his cover design of “One Hundred Years of Solitude.”
The texture behind his work combines water colors and papercraft. I love the way the two types of textures play off each other to bring dimension to his artwork. Visually, he gravitates towards bright color palettes for his animations. Rainford is admitted not a very nerd-centric artist, but his work was so interesting I decided to share it anyways!
