National Novel Writing Month – A NaNoWriMo Frenzy

Hello one and all- writers and non-writers alike may be aware that November is the National Novel Writing Month! The month was instituted as a community challenge for writers across America to band together and reach a collective goal of 505,185,607 words written towards the novels they have always dreamed of writing.

It’s already 5 days into the project, but you can still sign up and join in the fun! Go to the official site to register as a writer! Each writer’s personal goal is to write 1,667 words per day. That roughly translates to 6-7 pages per day.

The best thing about NaNoWriMo is reading the stories online as they are being written. Several different sites host forums for author’s to post their progress including FanFicition.Net and GoodReads. Whether you fulfill the commitment or not- it’s an incredible thing to attempt.

There’s actually a long list of writers who have gotten their NaNoWriMo works eventually published stories covering a variety of genres:

S. Christopher— Gigapolis (Published in 2009).

Saranna DeWylde— How to Marry a Warlock in 10 Days (Published in 2012).

Nathan Poell— Post-Apocalypse Dead Letter Office  (Published in 2011)
